Quatrième de couverture

Most developing countries have urgent needs for international development assistance, but limited local capacity in terms of formulation and appraisal of development projects. For this reason, a number of them fail to live up to their full potential in attracting much-needed development aid resources. As a matter of fact, many development funds periodically report that their resources go unused due to a lack of wellprepared and well-appraised projects to which they could commit resources. Using a pragmatic approach, International Development Project Appraisal, Execution Planning and Monitoring presents a panoramic view of the many activities involved in project formulation and appraisal. The book is a unique reference tool for professionals committed to development work as well as for the various stakeholders in development projects. The concepts and methodologies involved are explained in a simple fashion that makes the book a handy resource for anyone interested in the preparation and appraisal of development projects, regardless of his academic background or work experience.
