Présentation d'une cinquantaine d'oeuvres réunies pour la collection contemporaine du Centre Pompidou depuis 2013, réalisées par des artistes liés au continent africain, au Moyen-Orient ou à l'Asie autour de la thématique de la résistance à l'oppression et des inégalités. Le projet met en parallèle récits individuels, formes de résistance personnelles et traumatismes collectifs.
The exhibition « Global(e) Resistance » sets out new criteria in the history of the collection of the Musée national d'art moderne, Centre Pompidou, through more than a hundred works by contemporary artists - all acquired over the last decade - primarily from the « Global South » (Africa, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America).. The exhibition examines the aesthetic and ethical strategies of resistance implemented by these artists. From political struggles to postcolonial issues, including those linked to the environment or gender-related, they respond to the urgency of the present moment while also proposing new alternatives..
