Working on his own since 1980, François Noël has designed schools, cultural facilities (a theatre, multimedia libraries), sports complexes, housing, hospital buildings and other edifices like the EDF head offices in Sarreguemines or Agrapôle in Lyon. Each project is thought out so as to offer those who use it a framework conducive to their well-being and to their development.. In exactly the same way as Rietveld or Le Corbusier, he uses colour to punctuate façades, volumes and spaces. Concrete (undressed, white or mass-coloured) is his favourite material. He designs buildings which, by virtue of their dynamism, partake of the continuity of modern thought, The cubist vision and abstraction are upheld by François Noël via a modern architecture which expresses the spirit of the times and the genius loci. His aim is endow every visual aspect of the project with a poetic dimension.. To reveal space and to qualify it and also to fashion urban spaces - such is the creed of this humanist architect for whom building is the finest means of expression and an act of generosity, constantly renewed..
